While scrolling on Instagram, I stumbled upon this haven for animals, a beautiful 15 minute drive from the city. Impossible to resist, I contacted Amita who is the founder of the sanctuary. She immediately responded and invited me to visit the shelter situated in the village Shukarchakk. A peaceful drive along farmlands and fruit orchards near Verka, I reached the oasis where I was greeted by the heartwarming sight of dogs of varied breeds and sizes, each with a unique story of resilience. The Pawsitive team, comprising dedicated veterinarians and caregivers, work tirelessly to treat and rehabilitate animals with injuries, illnesses, abuse, neglect and or emotional trauma.

Pawsitive Animal Rescue and Stray Dog Shelter was established 3 years ago by a canadian based Amritsar's Amita Seth , with the goal of making a difference in the lives of the city's stray animals. Driven by their love for animals and a desire to contribute to the welfare of the community, Amita transformed her passion into a full-fledged rescue and shelter organization.

A dog hit by a vehicle , a malnourished puppy struggling to survive, an abandoned pet, and other trauma cases, all get the Pawsitive attention and their helping hand bearing the immediate medical attention and care.
